This policy describes how CloudEx Inc. ("we") handles information in the Android app "Pedometer Pro" (the "App").
1. Information the App handles
- Steps (per hour), walking time and recorded walks
- Height, weight, stride length, goals and target weight that you enter
- App settings (notifications, counting method and so on)
All of this is stored on your device and is never sent to our servers. The App requires no account and does not use your location.
2. How permissions are used
- Physical activity: to read steps from the step sensor, and to detect when you ride a vehicle (only if you turn on "Detect vehicles automatically", which uses Google Play services activity recognition).
- Notifications: to show today's steps and to notify you about goals and reminders.
- Health Connect (write steps): only if you turn it on in Settings, hourly steps are written to Health Connect. The App never reads data from Health Connect. Data written there is handled according to Health Connect and the apps that you allow to use it.
3. Backups
Your records may be included in Android's automatic backup to your Google account. You can also export a backup file (JSON) or a CSV to a location you choose.
4. Third-party services
- Google Play Billing (one-time Premium purchase and restore), in-app review and in-app update
- Firebase Crashlytics / Analytics (when enabled): crash reports and anonymous usage data to find and fix problems. Your steps, weight and other records are not included.
- Our other apps list: the list is downloaded from our server to introduce our other apps.
- Virtual journey photos: when you reach a stop, a photo of the place is loaded from Wikipedia / Wikimedia Commons. Only the stop’s name and its position on the map (from the route, not your device’s location) are sent. Photos are stored temporarily on the device and shown with the photographer and license.
5. Deleting data
Use "Delete all records" in Settings or uninstall the App to delete the records on your device. Steps written to Health Connect can be deleted from Health Connect.
